I’ve sat on this update for a few days because honestly… I haven’t had the strength to write it.
After Dior’s CT scan came back clear (thank God), we started moving full steam ahead with surgery, chemo, and hopefully ELIAS Immunotherapy. We’ve had several back-and-forth conversations with both Texas A&M and BluePearl, trying to confirm costs, options, and timelines. The financial side of this is crushing, but I know Dior is worth fighting for.
Unfortunately, the radiologist at Texas A&M flagged an enlarged lymph node near Dior’s tumor. It could be nothing… just inflammation… but it could be metastatic spread. We won’t know for sure until they aspirate the lymph node under anesthesia this Tuesday, May 20th.
Treatment Options We’ve Discussed So Far:
- Amputation ($7,000 estimate)
- Chemotherapy ($1,300 per round at BluePearl / $800–$1,000 at TAMU)
- ELIAS Immunotherapy ($9,500+, not including exams/bloodwork)
- Yale Vaccine (Promising but the closest clinic is 17+ hours away)
- Holistic Options (We’re looking into options like Dr. Judy Jasek’s integrative care and other supportive therapies)
I’ll be putting together a comprehensive treatment options guide soon, since so many of you have reached out asking for resources after experiencing this with your own dogs. Please keep an eye out for that here on my website.
What’s Next
Our biggest focus right now is Tuesday’s lymph node aspiration. While I feel anxious waiting, I know this step is necessary to make the best decision for Dior.
After that, our priority is getting surgery scheduled as soon as possible. We need at least $3,500 down to get on the schedule, and we are less than $1,000 away from hitting that goal! 🙌
We’ve also sold 14 out of our goal of 1,400 t-shirts, which feels like a small win—but we have a long way to go.

How Dior Is Doing Today
He’s still in the best spirits (honestly, better than the rest of us). He’s:
- Eating
- Drinking
- Playing
- NOT Limping
- Balancing on his sore leg to pee on everything 🙄😂
It feels impossible that we’re facing something so serious because he’s still so full of life.
Closing Thoughts
I’ve had people tell me I’m “selfish” for even considering surgery and chemo. But here’s the thing… I’m listening to Dior, not them.
If he’s ready to fight, I’ll fight with him.
If he ever shows me he’s tired, I’ll respect that too.
Right now, Dior’s telling me he’s still got life to live, and I won’t give up on him.
